一般來說我們在做植牙的custom abutment, 最常使用的材料就是titanium alloy和zirconia. Zirconia已經被證實不建議和titanium鎖在一起, 因為其材料太過堅硬的特性會損耗titanium implant. 這個研究是去使用Pd/Ag alloy, 用CAD/CAM的方式製作, 然後去和titanium alloy比較其物理性質如何.
結果在margin的部分Pd/Ag小輸但是在torgue的部分勝. 其含有黃色的特性在前牙也比較能達成美觀. 所以若是價錢合理的話可以取代titanium, 可惜目前Pd/Ag市價遠超過Ti合金. 而且整塊用切削的真的相當浪費.
