這個實驗室在研究enamel在相對應于不同表面質地的zirconia時的磨耗. 這個實驗中有5個group, 1. polished zirconia, 2. glazed zirconia, 3. polished then reglazed zirconia, 4. veneering porcelain and 5. enamel. 每個group都有8個specimen.

接著將每個specimen放到Alabama wear testing machine, 和標準化的自然牙去磨耗, 然後用3Dscan以得到自然牙的磨耗程度.

以表面的粗糙程度來說, polished zirconia是最光滑的, 接著是polished then reglazed和glazed zirconia. veneering porcelain和enamel是比較粗糙的.

以磨耗後結果來說, polished zirconia比起其他的材質來說都是相對最好的. 所以在沒有美觀考量時其實只要好好polish不但可以讓自己的磨耗變少而且對咬的牙齒也相對不會磨耗.
